The special dietary needs of our customers have been at the top of our thinking since we launched Uncle Wally’s in 1995. CEO Lou Avignone and I recognized the growing interest in, and importance of, more healthy foods. So, when we co-founded the company, we focused on an assortment of fat free products. As we grew, we broadened our scope until we had a whole family of muffins.
It pleases Lou and me that the first items offered in our new online store, Uncle Wally’s Muffin Shoppe (http://www.unclewallysonline.com/), are all in what we call the “portion control” category. Included are Fat Free, Sugar Free and Smart Portion items, some of which may be perfect for people utilizing diets recommended for diabetics or for weight control. And there are Snack and Fun Muffins that are a bit more indulgent, but still modest in size and calories.
So what’s in the future? All I can say now is watch for lots more of the leadership and innovation you’ve come to expect!
